Mini-lessons
A mini-lesson is a daily five-minute mini-lesson based on the needs of the students. There are three types:
- Procedural/Management--which teach the classroom management system so the workshop functions smoothly.
- Author’s Craft--which help students understand what good writing is. These lessons focus on the dimensions of effective writing.
- Editorial--which deal with conventions such as spelling, formatting, usaage, punctuation, sentences, and paragraphing.
Mini-lessons for each theme can be found in the P.R.E.P. Manual.
Submit Mini-lessons
Please submit a writing mini-lesson that you have developed for your classroom that you would like to share with others. You can use one of the posted templates under the Writing Tool Kit link to format your lesson. After the lesson is submitted, it will be edited and then posted on this website for others to access.
