English, Multi Discipline Teacher (Posted June 19 2008)
Description: Teach English, or combination of duties from choir, keyboarding, microsoft office, ESL, Student Government sponsor, library and language lab supervision.
TAPA is a nine through twelve grade academy in Taipei, Taiwan located in the Shihlin district of the city. We teach an American curriculum in English and we help many of our students transfer to an academy or college in the United States.
Experience: We seek teachers with a discipline specific or related degree (for English), or a minimum of a college degree with job knowledge for the combination of duties advertised above.
Experience is a plus, but will consider recent graduates who are looking to develop and advance their teaching profession.
This is a different experience than teaching in the United States. We are seeking applicants who will enjoy and thrive in a foreign environment and who have a willingness to leave the comforts of home for two years.
We provide round trip flights yearly, pay a housing allowance, and have a salary scale that rivals many international schools in the city. We have generous vacations since we use the American curriculum and schedule, plus we take time off for some local holidays. Our teachers typically return home for the summer months.
